Richard & Mieko Pottery
Tokoname developed as a pottery making town around 8AD. In the centre of the town, there’s a Pottery Walking Path where we can enjoy walking and seeing the history. Richard & Mieko Pottery is where Richard Truckle and Mieko Sagisaka live, and make pots. It is a traditional Japanese house, part of which, on the first floor in the tatami area, we have made into our gallery. We make pots that are a mix of English country pots and Japanese traditional pots.
Western culture meets eastern culture here and we hope to spread this into the world.

リチャード＆ミエコポタリー
常滑は日本六古窯の一つで８世紀頃より焼き物の町として発展してきました。その中心に丘を上り下りしながら散策する焼物散歩道があります。リチャード＆ミエコポタリーはその近くの古民家を自宅兼ギャラリーとして、リチャード・トラックル（英国人）と匂坂三恵子（日本人）が制作活動する場所です。主に、イギリスのカントリーポットと日本の陶器を作っています。西と東の文化がここで出会い、世界に広がっていってほしいと願っています。
